RBI conducts Rs 8,450 crore state government securities auction; cut-off yields between 6.43% and 7.43%
Mumbai: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Tuesday announced the results of its latest yield and price-based auction of State Government Securities (SGS), raising a total of Rs 8,450 crore from various states and Union Territories. The cut-off yields in the auction ranged from 6.4377 per cent to 7.43 per cent.

Data Focus: Central Bank of India, Bank of Baroda have highest proportion of vacant posts among PSBs
Pune: Fresh manpower data as of June 30, 2025, reveal that several public sector banks (PSBs) are operating with significant staffing shortages. When measured as a share of total assessed manpower requirements, Central Bank of India emerges as the most understaffed, with 8.64 per cent of sanctioned posts lying vacant. Out of a requirement of 36,544 employees, the bank has 3,156 unfilled positions.

The data from the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) indicates that the industry’s assets under management crossed the Rs 75 trillion mark. For the past five years, more than 2.5 million new folios (not new investors) were created every month. Over the past decade, one has witnessed a silent revolution in retail investing, as nearly 50 million investors have embraced mutual funds (MFs). Indians have shifted from the mindset of savings (bank accounts and fixed deposits) to wealth creation. This journey was aided by efforts made by AMFI, market regulator and policy-makers.

Hyderabad: Union Mutual Fund will be launching the Union Diversified Equity All Cap Active FOF September 1, 2025, to be closed in 15 days. “Many investors struggle with market timing, deciding how much to allocate to each cap segment, and managing tax implications when switching between funds. This Fund of Fund aims to address all these pain points while still offering the tax benefits of an equity fund,” said Madhu Nair, MD & CEO, Union Asset Management Company.

Non-residents can invest their surplus balances in Special Rupee Vostro Accounts in G-Secs
Mumbai: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has allowed non-residents maintaining a Special Rupee Vostro Account (SRVA) for international trade settlement in Indian Rupees to invest their surplus balance in this account in Central Government Securities (including Treasury Bills). This move comes in the wake of the central bank last week simplifying the procedure for opening SRVAs, whereby banks’ authorised to deal in foreign exchange (ADs) are no longer be required to seek prior central bank approval for opening SRVAs of correspondent foreign banks. .
